Tactical Brief - Large

I wanted a simple case to carry my Microsoft Surface Studio laptop and this fit the bill perfectly. There is not much to the case but it is a quality build. The molle webbing on the front is a nice addition to allow for attaching items to the case if more holding capacity is needed. The case is sturdy, looks rugged and stylish.

It isn't a deal breaker but let's get the key negative for me out of the way. The padding in the shoulder strap is too thin for the weight of my laptop and it's accessories. That's before I added other stuff. So I bought a thicker add on shoulder pad that wraps around the one the brief comes with. That said I still consider the brief a strong recommend. Adaptability was the key selling point. The brief allowed me to put on a general purpose pouch and a something to carry my water bottle. With webbing to spare for a few odds and ends if I wanted. The main compartment is nicely padded, more so around the edge. It's nearly snug but it fits my 14" x 10 1/4" laptop. I haven't gotten to test the luggage handle loop on the back. It could be fine but I'd be more comfortable with a few extra lines of stitching next to what's there. Also not a deal breaker for me. I'd rather keep my laptop on my person anyways. The built in front pouch under the hook and loop patch works great for my gear for unexpected rain (a poncho and spare water tight bags to protect the laptop and electronics). Maybe even enough room for a light button up long sleeve shirt for an extra layer on cool or cold days. One other thing I'd suggest changing (though I won't reduce points for it because it may work for others). Make the 2 loops on the bottom adjustable. Just a coupe slip buckles on some straps like you see on shoulder straps for backpacks. To tighten something down. My umbrella won't fit in the loops there. By a narrow margin. Though another positive of the molle webbing is the ability to rig up an alternative way to hold the umbrella. It makes things very adaptable. It's quality is rather good for it's purpose. I'm not sure I would put it on the level of rugged I'd need to work through rain, mud, and wilderness combined. But then I'd use a bit more specialized protection if I needed a laptop there. This brief will get the job done in a lot of situations.

I had a good experience after contacting UAG about a failure of an iPad Pro case that was not made anymore. The Tactical Brief fit my 16in MacBook Pro perfectly and the side pocket fit all my cords and external hard drive without a problem. Great size, design and quality of this product!

I am constantly on the move. Finding a big enough lap top bag has been difficult. Thanks for such a killer bag that can work with both my ipad and mac book!
