Scout Series Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Case with Handstrap

I've tried a few Surface cases over the years. Very impressed with UAG's offering, high protection without much bulk, comparatively. Rubberized where it counts, rigid plastic frame, and the hand strap feels very sturdy. Quality feel, fits perfectly. The only potential weak point is bottom edge. There's bit of flex on account of the thin-ness but I'm not too worried (common limitation) and there's not much beyond attaching a metal beam that could help there. Could also do without the round pen holder for the Pro 8, but it also functions as a thumb grip when holding the tablet sideways so there's not much to complain about there. Overall, this is my new go-to Surface Pro case.

This is a nice case. I do have a few grips due to it being $50. I'll list the cons below. - Should have more vent holes, especially on the left upper section. -The bottom section is quite flimsy and should be thicker. This is so much so, that I have conceder returning it. I've noticed they fixed this problem with the SP9 version. -There is only a notch to get access to the kick stand on one side. Would have been nice for it to be on both sides. - The pen holder doesn't really hold the slim pen very well. It will hold it well enough during use. But I would not recommend traveling with it stored there. It will most certainly fall out. I tipically use it when I'm drawing with the type cover off. It is convenient for that. Pros: -The hand strap is quite nice, very comfortable and convenient. -The locking strap to keep the type cover closed is a step up from older models. But it is a little cumbersome to use. But it locks the type cover in very well, just sometimes hard to undo it. -The power and volume buttons are really nice! -I do like the notch at the top that lets you flip the type cover open easier. -The texture and overall feel of the case is nice. -The case is set up to utilize the full extension of the kick stand. Or at least as far as someone would really need, without just laying it flat on a table. -You can fully fold the type cover all the way behind the case without having to remove it. You won't have access to the strap though. -slim design All in all, it's a good case and I do recommend.

Great Customer service that stands behind their product. Responds quickly. I have the Scout for the Surface Pro 8. The case in general is great. I love being able to use the kickstand on the surface and not one built into a case. I use this everyday for work. I take on jobsites, meetings and use at my desk. 2 areas of improvement I'd like to see. The small narrow piece at the bottom is very narrow and flimsy. It's a matter of time before it breaks in my opinion. Not sure what a better option would be but an area for improving. The little rubber strap to hold the type cover closed to me is another week point that will stretch out or fail over time. I like the hand strap on the back and the protection it gives my tablet. Not a huge issue is the pen holder on top doesn't fit the new flat pens the Pro 8 comes with. Fits a round older style pen. My key board stores it fine. I would like to use the holder on top when out on jobsites measuring. It's a great case overall that I would recommend.
