The Scout Series case for the iPad Pro is nearly awesome, except for one serious design flaw.

I really do find the Scout perfect for home and office use, where combat ready military grade protection is not a strict necessity. The case is well constructed from quality material. I really do like the Scout's lightweight sleekness and also the way that it enhances your grip on the enclosed device. The built-in pencil clip is very functional and convenient. However, when it’s time to recharge the pencil there’s a nasty surprise: it won’t reliably fit into the cutout provided for the lightning port. How did that happen? Did I get a weird one? The only way to charge the pencil is to remove the iPad from the case, most inconvenient. This is the first iPad Pro case, from any company, I’ve encountered with this issue. At some point I will have to break out my Dremel and attempt surgery, but not today…
